Pre – UIL Philharmonic Orchestra and Pizza Party

On Wednesday, February 21st, students in the Philharmonic Orchestra attended a mandatory Pre-University Interscholastic League (more commonly known as UIL) clinic at the Middle School in preparation for their annual UIL orchestra competition next month.  Students enjoyed pizzas generously donated by Mimi’s Pizzeria and cookies by JD’s Chippery.

The clinic was taught by Ms. Michelle Kong, who currently serves as the Head Orchestra Director at Long Middle School in Carrollton – Farmers Branch ISD.

The students have been hard at work working on their pieces, and will continue to work on polishing them for the contest.

The UIL Concert and Sightreading contest will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at Nimitz High School at 9:50am in Irving.  All parents, families, and friends are welcome to attend. Best of luck to our talented and amazing students.
