Voices of Change (a professional chamber ensemble) will present Silent Music: Music of the Holocaust on Sunday, April 29th from 7:30pm-10:30pm at SMU’s Caruth Auditorium. A representative from the Holocaust Museum will hold a talk prior to the concert at 6:30pm.
Students from both Highland Park Middle School Orchestra and Band are all invited and encouraged to attend this event. Admission for students is free. They will be given extra credit if they attend. Boris Pigovat: Silent Music (viola, harp)
Pavel Haas: 4 Songs on Chinese Poetry (baritone, piano)
Gideon Klein: String Trio (violin, viola, cello)
Erwin Schulhoff: Flute Sonata (piano, flute)
Simon Sargon: Shema (piano, flute-1988 Voices of Change commission )
Though these composers perished in the Holocaust, their music lives on today.
