New Orchestra Director, Ms. Sarah Wilson

Sarah Wilson has been a performing musician for over a decade with experience performing on cello, violin and bass. She has several years of successful orchestra teaching experience in the school system as well as the private lesson system. She has studied and performed a wide variety of music and developed an intimate knowledge of how to teach and structure the orchestra classroom.

Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. She has been the Orchestra Director at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School in Irving, Texas for the past four years. She has a proven reputation for delivering high quality instruction and producing superior results in UIL Contest and Sight Reading, All Region and district events, and in chamber music settings. She is the associate principal of the Dallas Millenial Orchestra and season cellist in the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving. She also plays bass in a more contemporary “rock band” setting.

Ms. Wilson is excited to begin her 5th year in the field of education as a part of Highland Park Independent School District. We are excited to have her be an integral part of MIS/HPMS’ music education!
